Scout About Challenge 2018

Saturday 17th March 2018

District Activity Centre, The Canyon

A relatively new District event, this is a fun Six hours of non-competitive, Scout-craft activities, including;

Archery

Constructing and using a survival stove to make a hot drink

Building a battery operated camp light for your Patrol

Geocaching (treasure hunt using a GPS receiver)

Patrols/teams of between 4 and 7 Scouts can enter and take part in all the above activities and each Patrol will be able to take away their stove, matches and mini Patrol box for use at Scouts and camps (ideal for Colonel Woods!)

Patrols check-in at 9:30am, ready to start activities at 10am. Each activity base will last an hour. Building the camp light is spread over three one hour bases, where as the other activities last an hour each. All the activities will be based in the grounds of the Canyon, except for the Geocaching where we will venture in to the grounds of Fairlands Valley Park. A buffet style lunch will be provided for all participants before activities continue into the afternoon.

If you wish to take part, return the slip on the letter to your Scout Leader.
